walking around the neighborhood

I like to go walking around the neighborhood.  Look how cute my little ears flop around when I walk!

I'm so cute with my friends!

This is me with my cone on for the final day.  I got a little dirty playing in the yard.

I met a horse!

Today on my walk, we went by some big four-legged animals.  I thought they were big dogs, but I learned they are called horses.  I was very good around the horses, I just sat and watched!  Oh, and good news, my cone is off!

Look at me sitting and posing withe the horses:

And then a horse came close!

Look at how well I did with the horse!

my friend duchess

Hello!  Guess what?!  Duchess and I are starting to become friends!  She doesn't run away from me as much and I don't chase her around.  She's still very interesting to me, but we are making great progress.  In other news, I still have my cone on.  I had to go back to the vet because I had an infection where I got fixed.  But I like the vet, so it was ok.  And now I'm doing much better!

See here are Duchess and I:

I'm so ready to have my cone off!

No cone will slow me down!

I still have my cone on.  It came off a little too early last time, so now I have to keep it on to make sure I heal up from getting fixed.  But look how fast I got with it on!

The cone has gotten a little beat up.  And I'm a little beat from running around.

I'm Edu-ma-cated!

When I lived on the street, nobody every cared about my intelligence.  Now that I'm off the streets though, I'm learning things very well!  I've learned to sit, come, walk on a leash, and I'm learning stay!  I'm also learning that staying in my crate during the day isn't so bad.  I get a rawhide when I go in the crate!  Look at how well behaved I am!

But in spite of all this, nobody has wanted to adopt me forever yet.  That makes me sad :(

over a week off the street!

Hi everyone!  I'm happy to say that I've been off the street for over a week now!  It's been a busy week.  I got "fixed," I got all my shots, I went to the vet twice, I'm learning to get along with my brother and sister, I'm learning not to chase after Duchess, and I'm learning all sorts of new commands.  I'm also putting on some weight so I'm not skin and bones anymore!  Wow!  What a week!

Now that I don't have to worry about all the dangers of being on the street, my personality can shine through!
Look at my brother and sister!  I'm the youngest!

More with Duchess!

I just want to play with her, why doesn't she want to play!!?

me playing!

Daisy and I like to play together now!  Maybe I can play with Duchess like this!  I used to just hold my tail between my legs, but now I like to wag it every now and again.

Duchess the cat

Duchess the cat and I have been getting to know each other slowly and surely.  Sometimes I'm scared of her, sometimes I want to play with her, sometimes I just like to stare at her.  But I keep getting told I'm a good boy when I don't chase after her, so that's what I'm going to keep doing!
look how well i'm doing!

do I snore?

umm, this is not a good look

I got a new collar.  But it's not a pretty one.  In fact, I look like a big flashlight.  I've heard that it's to keep me from licking myself while I heal, but it just makes me run into things.

Oh and another thing - last night, my twin brother appeared at the house!!!  He looks exactly like me and he stands in the glass door at night.  My daddy calls him Reflection.  Reflection is a silly name for a dog.  But when I growl at him, he growls at me.  And he moves exactly like I do - if I move one way, he moves the same way!  And, he's wearing a cone exactly like me!  I don't see Reflection anywhere else but on the shiny glass door, well and sometimes on the window, but I growl at him when I see him.  What are the chances of me having a twin brother named Reflection!

here are pictures of me.  see, I look like a flashlight!

why am I the only one who is wearing a cone?
dealing with this cone makes me sleepy

getting fixed...

I went to the vet again today.  There were lots of nice people again, but this visit was different.  They said I was getting fixed.  I don't know why they call it getting fixed because I don't feel like anything was fixed.  In fact, my boy parts feel quite different now.  They shaved a little spot on my arm too.  I've been relaxing at home now.  Everybody is so nice at the vet.  They all tell me I'm a cute little guy.  In addition to getting fixed, I got a microchip put in me!  I'm a robot dog now!  I also got some medicine so that I'll be all healthy from my days on the street.

Oh, and my daddy told me to tell everyone that I stayed in my crate all day yesterday and was such a good boy.  We also went on a walk yesterday and I didn't even pull on the leash much at all.  It's fun to walk around a neighborhood that has grass!

Here's some more pictures of me from today!

These are my brother and sister.  We're getting along much better now, but I still am looking for that little gray cat!
Look how handsome I am!
All the other street dogs would be jealous of me now!
I think I'll rest for a bit to recover from my day at the vet

The vet visit!

Today I went to the vet.  It was fun!  I got to ride in a car again and we went to this place with lots of friendly people.  There were some other animals there too and I was excited to see them.  Everybody thought I was such a pretty dog!  The doctor looked at me and gave me some shots.  I didn't even cry because I'm a tough little guy.  The people at the vet told me I am 56 pounds and about a year old!  The doctor told me that I was a "healthy pet!" and gave me an "excellent" prognosis!  And the nice lady at the vet gave me a rawhide.  I like her a lot!

I've heard that I'm going back to the vet tomorrow to be fixed, but I don't know what that means.  I mean what would need to be fixed if I have an excellent prognosis?  Hmm.... well, I guess I'll let you know tomorrow.

Some videos of me!

Email me if you are interested in bringing me into your family or have any questions: email here

This is me interacting with my new friends.  I'm pretty cute huh?

This is me eating -- I'm hungry.  I keep hearing that I don't have food aggression.  I don't know what that means but people like sticking their hand in my food.  It doesn't seem to bother me.

I'm Moose

Hello everyone, my name is Moose.  I'm a dog.  I have a blog.

My story starts a few days ago when I was running around the intersection of Airline Drive and Interstate 45 in Houston, Texas.  For those of you that don't know, it's kind of a rough neighborhood, even for a guy like me.  There were lots of pimps, prostitutes, gangsters, and drug dealers that used to hang around in my neighborhood. People weren't always nice to me.  I didn't get fed much either.  But a couple of days ago, I was hanging out at my favorite gas station trying to find some food and this nice guy tried to make friends with me.  At first I didn't trust him, but after two hours and four cans of Vienna sausages, I got close enough for him to grab my collar.  I was scared though and we had a bit of struggle.  I thought he might be trying to hurt me.  But it turns out he only wanted to help.  He took me in a car away to a new home.

When I got to my new home, I had two friends waiting for me.  They are Hank and Daisy.  They were very excited to see me, but I don't think they know what to do with me.  Sometimes Daisy is aggressive toward me and it scares me.  I'm just a little guy.  There is also a cat named Duchess, but I don't see her much.

I've heard that I'm going to something called the vet tomorrow.  I don't know what that is, but I'll tell you when I find out.  I've also heard that I'm getting "fixed" later this week.  I don't know what is wrong with me so I can't imagine what needs to be fixed.

Anyway... I want to find a home... I don't think Daisy wants me in this home so much, so maybe I'd be better if I found another place.

This is me - I'm kind of skinny.  You can see my ribs.
Because of the harsh start to my life, I'm still a bit timid:
But I get comfortable quickly
My right ear always stands up
It's like I'm waving to you!
I'm pretty mellow for being a cute little puppy
I just want a nice family I can call my own
Don't you think I should have a second chance?
